Young Enterprise Company Programme

10 groups of motivated self-selecting students, aged 14-19yrs, put themselves forward to start a business under the Young Enterprise “Company Programme” scheme, a hands on “learning by doing experience that see them bring a business
idea to fruition.

Over the course of an academic year, supported by their teachers, volunteer Business Advisers and skills workshop deliverers, students are empowered to bring a product or service to market and trade with the public, confidently pitch their business, manage a business bank account and keep accurate records.

OET Funding Opportunities

An innovative fund to ‘Get Oldham Working’ has been launched to offer financial and expert support to the next generation of young entrepreneurs who want to start their own business.

The Oldham Enterprise Fund is a vital part of Oldham Council’s flagship “Get Oldham Working” campaign aiming to create 2,015 employment opportunities by 2015.

This co-operative partnership of the Council, Oldham Business Leadership Group, the Business Growth Hub, and Blue Orchid, will deliver a combined funding and business support offer, unique to both new and existing businesses based in the Borough and residents elsewhere.
